Welcome to another episode of Food, Freedom, and Fertility. Hosts Caitlin and Sophia chat with Ashley Koff.
Ashley Koff is the founder of The Better Nutrition Program (BNP), has spent over 25 years dedicated to creating resources that simplify nutrition and help people live healthier, more fulfilling lives. She also has the privilege of serving as the Nutrition Director for UC-Irvine’s Susan Samueli Integrative and Functional Medicine Fellowship, where she mentors the next generation of healthcare leaders. Together, they are working to rewrite the rules of wellness with integrative, personalized approaches to health.
Through heer personal and professional history, she has learned about weight-health hormones and their role as regulators of overall weight health (what she calls our body’s “ecosystem”). When functioning optimally, they put things where they should go – muscle, bone and fat. When suboptimal – whether suppressed, delayed or dysfunctional – they keep us all from optimal weight health. Through clinical practice over 15 years, she created the first weight-health hormone function assessment and protocols for optimization. She shares that with you here and in her new book Your Best Shot: The Personalized Plan for Optimal Weight Health- GLP-1 Shot or Not.
Throughout her career, she has been honored to be recognized for her work, including being named Hollywood’s Leading Nutritionist (InStyle) and one of CNN’s Top 100 Health Makers. Her books, Recipes for IBS and Mom Energy, reflect her passion for making better choices accessible to all, and she is thrilled to be releasing her third book—my “love letter to better”—with Harper Collins (HaperOne) in January 2026.
In this episode Caitlin, Sophia and Ashley chat about complex health challenges and turn them into simple, actionable steps that stick. This episode is one you won't want to skip!
